What is Pilates?

Our Philosophy

Pilates is a holistic body workout which aims to strengthen your muscles, improve your posture and increase your flexibility. It also promotes your body awareness and helps you to stabilize and strengthen your core. This can help with very simple activities in everyday life, in other sports and also after injuries and complaints.

Pilates was developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s. It focuses on the deep, small muscle groups that are crucial for a healthy posture and a stable core. With us, you practice Pilates on the mat using either your body weight, small weights, Pilates balls, bands or glide pads.

Benefits of Pilates

Pilates offers you numerous health benefits. It improves your flexibility, strengthens your core muscles and promotes a healthy posture. Regular Pilates exercise can also reduce back pain, improve balance, and increase overall wellbeing. Pilates is also suitable for all fitness levels.

Yoga vs Pilates?

Although Pilates and yoga are often mentioned in the same breath, there are significant differences between the two methods.

While yoga focuses more on spiritual aspects and meditation, Pilates focuses on physical fitness and stabilizing the core of the body. However, both methods complement each other perfectly and together can form a holistic training routine.
